Position Overview

This role is part of the WOW (Work on Weekends) initiative, requiring employees to work every Saturday and Sunday. WOW team members receive premium compensation alongside their competitive hourly wages and shift differentials.


Key Responsibilities

The Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner plays a vital role in initiating respiratory protocols and assessing protocol steps across various therapy modalities.

As a key member of the patient care team, you will:

  • Assess and develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Evaluate the appropriateness of respiratory care modalities.
  • Assist with discharge planning as necessary.

Additionally, you will provide education to patients and families regarding medications and therapy modalities tailored to their learning needs. You will also participate in monitoring the quality of care and organize workflows to ensure seamless transitions between shifts.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting daily operations of respiratory care services through accurate documentation.
  • Entering charges for patient billing.
  • Monitoring and ordering necessary supplies and medications.
  • Performing other assigned duties as required.

Stay updated with current knowledge through hospital and departmental communication tools. Identify issues and propose innovative solutions while demonstrating critical thinking skills. Participate in or provide in-service training as needed.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in respiratory care.
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy.

One of the following:

  • ACCS or NPS certification.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (National).
  • Respiratory Therapist (State) (KY).

Desired:

  • Three years of experience in respiratory care, including critical care.
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program.

Screening Requirements
  • Background check.
  • Verification of license and education.
  • Employment reference verification.
  • Drug screening.
