Overview of Responsibilities: Under general oversight, the instructor is responsible for crafting lesson plans for accredited technical and vocational courses. This role involves the development of program curricula, syllabi, objectives, and goals, as well as assessing students' progress towards these objectives. The instructor will also maintain necessary documentation and administrative reports, participate in professional development activities, and ensure compliance with safety and security standards in the discipline. Regular meetings with students, staff, and fellow educators will be held to discuss instructional programs and related matters.

The instructor will deliver pharmacy assistant courses in a classroom, laboratory, or field setting that mirrors industry conditions, while staying informed about current trends and advancements in the field. Responsibilities include providing instruction in pharmacy technology, establishing, measuring, and evaluating student learning outcomes for ongoing improvement and success. Additional duties encompass program administration, which includes overseeing operations, evaluation, and revision of the program in alignment with Technical College System of Georgia standards and the accreditation requirements of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising and evaluating students.
  • Assessing faculty and staff performance.
  • Planning and managing the program budget.
  • Engaging with the community through program initiatives.
  • Serving on college committees as required.

The position may require teaching during morning and afternoon hours, and potentially throughout the week. Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with a diverse student body are essential.

Minimum Qualifications: (Candidates must meet all minimum qualifications to be considered)

  • Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician and/or State of Georgia Pharmacy Technician Certification.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least three (3) years of verifiable experience in the field within the last five (5) years.
  • Two years of documented experience as an instructor in a Pharmacy Assistant program.
