Role Overview:

Under general supervision, the position entails developing educational materials and course outlines for technical subjects, evaluating student performance, and remaining informed about industry advancements. Responsibilities include instructing students in Welding within a simulated industrial environment, emphasizing both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills, as well as evaluating student learning outcomes for ongoing enhancement. Proficient computer and communication abilities are essential for effective interaction with learners.

Availability:

Selected candidates should be prepared to work during morning or evening hours, Monday through Thursday.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Welding and Joining Technology or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Three years of relevant field experience within the last seven years.
  • Successful completion of the AWS welding examination; additional pipe welding assessment may be necessary in certain locations.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Welding and Joining Technology from an accredited institution.
  • AWS or equivalent welding certifications.
  • Experience in teaching at the postsecondary level.
  • Experience in online instruction.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Payment is based on contact hours.
  • All positions are part-time and temporary, contingent upon student enrollment each semester.
  • Adjunct roles do not come with benefits or guarantee full-time employment.

Application Instructions:

To be considered for the Adjunct Pool, applicants must submit transcripts, resumes, and certifications. Separate applications are required for each academic year. Courses are conducted face-to-face, primarily scheduled Monday through Thursday. Some courses may also be offered Monday through Friday for dual enrollment.

The institutions uphold a non-discriminatory policy, and all applicants will be evaluated based on their qualifications. Final employment is contingent upon performance and funding availability. Specific qualifications may vary based on the teaching discipline and accrediting body standards.
