Sparks Group, a leading partner to national mortgage lenders, is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join their growing team. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, this contract-to-hire role offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is estimated at $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 per annum, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health and life insurance, paid and unpaid time off, and retirement and savings plans to qualifying employees.

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for over 1000 exempt and non-exempt employees nationwide. Your duties will include:

  • Processing Payroll Data: Analyze, prepare, and input payroll data into our payroll system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Timesheet Review: Monitor and review timesheets to ensure accuracy of approved submissions.
  • Wage Withholdings: Process wage withholdings, including child support, garnishments, and notify employees accordingly.
  • Payroll General Ledger: Prepare and reconcile files for the Payroll General Ledger.

You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with government regulations and providing exceptional customer service to all employees regarding payroll issues and concerns.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A strong understanding of payroll processing and multi-state regulations.
  • Experience working with high-volume payroll systems and software.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, with expertise in Pivot Tables and V-Lookup.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees and management.
