Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, assess, and analyze relevant information and documentation.
  • Employ various systems and methodologies to conduct research and draft legal documents.
  • Track case developments and filings, manage court deadlines, and perform related tasks to ensure efficient case handling.
  • Draft documents pertaining to various litigation matters, including real estate, employment, business, and civil litigation.
  • Coordinate and schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and other litigation-related activities.
  • Review legal documents for accuracy and consistency.
  • Engage with clients in person and via phone to discuss and prepare draft discovery responses.
  • Collaborate closely with attorneys to address daily operational issues and support a wide range of commercial litigation cases.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative atmosphere within the office.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong empathy and interpersonal abilities, along with a customer-service focus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and navigate high-pressure, sensitive situations while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Capable of handling and safeguarding client information.
  • This position requires independent judgment and decision-making.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Filevine, and Lead Docket.
  • Able to perform well under pressure and quickly learn and retain new information.
  • Strong planning and reporting capabilities.
  • Dependable and reliable.
  • Typing speed of at least 45 WPM with excellent writing skills while managing multiple software applications.
  • Outstanding proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Willingness to learn new areas of law and enhance knowledge and proficiency in additional practice areas.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and business practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and cloud-based lead and file management systems.
  • Paralegal certification is preferred.
Educational Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Paralegal Studies or a Bachelor's Degree with a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or one in substantial compliance with ABA guidelines.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Commercial Litigation Paralegal is required.
