Data Center Facility Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Facility Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Data Center Engineering Operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations and management of technicians responsible for routine and emergency services on critical systems such as switch gear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, and more.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of technicians responsible for maintaining and replacing UPS battery systems, ensuring optimal performance and identifying potential issues.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for UPS battery systems, and oversee regular inspections, testing, and monitoring to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Coordinate battery replacements and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to operations.
- Plan and manage large-scale battery replacement projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and quality standards.
- Manage inventory levels of spare batteries, and implement inventory tracking systems to maintain accurate records of battery installations, replacements, and warranties.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards related to UPS battery systems and their safe handling, storage, and disposal.
- Develop and implement safety protocols and training programs for team members to mitigate risks associated with battery handling and maintenance.
- Establish and maintain relationships with battery manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers, and negotiate contracts to ensure timely delivery and quality of products and services.
- Develop and manage the budget for UPS battery maintenance, replacements, and related projects, and analyze costs to identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Prepare and present regular reports on battery system performance, maintenance activities, and project status to stakeholders and management.

Basic Qualifications- High school or equivalent diploma
- 2+ years of experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in a data center or other mission critical environment with knowledge in UPS, Generators, HVAC, Evaporators, and other critical infrastructure OR 7+ years of Technical (Military/Trade School) training and/or experience
- Advanced electrical or mechanical certifications (Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline)
- 3+ years of experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports
- 5+ years of experience working in a data center or other mission critical environment with an emphasis on building and equipment operation
