Job Summary

Lone Star College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Physics courses at our Kingwood campus. As a member of our faculty team, you will be responsible for creating engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Physics or a closely related physical science, with 18 graduate hours in Physics or a closely related physical science.

Responsibilities include teaching Physics courses at a variety of times and locations, creating engaging lessons, submitting required college reports and forms in a timely manner, and utilizing a course syllabus for each course.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Teach Physics courses at a variety of times and locations
  2. Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
  3. Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner
  4. Utilize a course syllabus for each course
  5. Meet with and advise students either before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods
  6. Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform students in a timely manner of their progress
  7. Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
  8. Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required
  9. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement instructional approaches such as service learning/civic engagement, learning communities, and the effective use of technology
  • Ability to use effective strategies to engage students in their learning
Working Conditions

  • The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Salary and Benefits

$53.82 per contact hour. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including tuition waiver, participation in a tax deferred retirement plan, professional development opportunities and more.
