Job Summary

Lone Star College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Physical Education and Kinesiology courses. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Recreation, Exercise Physiology, or Sports Administration, with 18 graduate hours in a related field. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging lessons, evaluating student progress, and maintaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.

This is a part-time, semester-by-semester position, with a maximum of five classes per academic year. The work schedule will vary depending on class time, and instructors are required to meet with classes at all scheduled times and be available to students outside of class instruction.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate leadership skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people. A commitment to academic excellence, exceptional service, and providing a dynamic climate for life-long learning is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Physical Education and Kinesiology courses at a variety of times and locations
  • Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
  • Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner
  • Utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines
  • Meet with and advise students either before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods
  • Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform students in a timely manner of their progress
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Recreation, Exercise Physiology, or Sports Administration, with 18 graduate hours in a related field

Salary and Benefits:
