Warehouse Driver Assistant

The Driver-Warehouse Assistant plays a vital role in the success of University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of materials and tools to job sites.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver and pick up materials and tools from job sites, ensuring timely and quality service.
- Support field supervisors and maintain positive communication with Field Foremen and Warehouse Manager.
- Operate a 1-Ton 12 ft. flat-bed truck and a F ft. flat-bed truck, with a valid Class C Driver's license and clean Department of Motor Vehicle Record.
- Perform small tool and equipment repair, and maintain inventory records.
- Assist workers in unloading and loading trucks, and sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
- Fill work orders, or request for materials, tools, or other stock items, and receive deliveries.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and warehouse housekeeping, and work a 40-hour work week with occasional overtime.
- Clean driving record and ability to learn and operate company tools and handling material.
- 3 to 4 years of general knowledge in construction operations preferred.
- Ability to operate power equipment, including forklift, and demonstrate integrity, honesty, professionalism, and commitment to company values.
- Excellent organizational, communication, strategic, technical, analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
- High standards of quality with attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communications skills, effectively in the English language.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
The work environment is dynamic, with a variety of construction worksites requiring walking on rugged or uneven terrain, climbing, kneeling, bending, and pushing and pulling 50 pounds.
Worksites could be located underground in tunnels or in high-rise construction, with exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical and electrical parts, high, precarious places, dust, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extended exposure to sunlight, cold and heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
