Job Summary:

Sutter Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, physicians, personnel, and volunteers within our healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrol hospital premises to prevent and detect crime, fire, and other security breaches.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment and inspect buildings, equipment, and access points to prevent losses and damages.
  • Respond to emergency calls, including disorderly conduct, combative patients, and potential or actual infant or child patient abductions.
  • Document incidents, observations, and witness statements in detail.
  • Assist with local authorities, such as police and fire departments, as needed.
  • Provide security education and conduct fire drills for the Safety Department.
  • Assist staff and visitors with lost and found items, answer general questions, and identify individuals with special needs.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • PSO - Proprietary Private Security Officer certification within 30 days of start date
  • Valid Driver's License Class C
  • 1 year recent relevant experience

Skills and Knowledge:

  • General knowledge of security procedures and protocols
  • Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment
  • Ability to write incident reports and read business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
