Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our patient registration and revenue cycle functions, ensuring seamless and efficient processes that meet the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train a team of registration and revenue cycle staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Monitor and manage departmental metrics to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Complete administrative tasks and perform patient registration duties as needed.
  • Manage patient registration flow and ensure timely and accurate processing of patient information.
  • Maintain organizational training requirements and ensure staff are up-to-date on the latest policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • 8 years of customer service experience, including related hospital, clinic, medical office, business services/revenue cycle, front-line registration, financial counseling, banking, hotel, retail, and/or customer service-related experience, and supervisory experience.
  • Or 3 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Proficiency with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to the role, and keyboard.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of patient registration, insurance verification, and payment negotiation.
  • Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills, including the ability to handle/escalate difficult situations.
  • Moderate knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and functional areas.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evening and weekend hours, as required.
Education and Experience

Required: High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: Additional degrees, business training experience, and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications.
