Job Overview:

The Electronics Production Specialist plays a crucial role in executing a range of assembly and wiring tasks across various assembly levels, utilizing engineering schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams. Responsibilities include assembling electrical and microwave circuits, as well as electro-optical and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow assembly instructions, drawings, blueprints, and schematics to perform bench builds of diverse wire assemblies.
  • Work with various types of cables, harnesses, printed circuit boards (PTH & SMT), and chassis wiring.
  • Apply potting and epoxy compounds, handling wiring near optical components and other assigned tasks.
  • Conduct various functions such as clamping, checking clearances, crimping, wire dressing, soldering, and mechanical assembly of components.
  • Maintain accurate production records.
  • Keep the work area and equipment clean and organized.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Wire previously installed components and subassemblies into main assemblies and assemble components.
  • Interpret assembly instructions, engineering drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Execute various harness and cable assembly installations.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, up to 10 hours.
  • Lift weights of 30-50 lbs with assistance.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
  • Obtain IPC 620 and J Standard Certifications.
  • Achieve and maintain a Department of Defense clearance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Job knowledge and skills typically acquired through a combination of education and experience:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent with four (4) years of electronic assembly experience, preferably in aerospace, defense, or medical sectors.
    • Two years of post-secondary education/associate's degree with zero (0) to two (2) years of electronic assembly experience, preferably in aerospace, defense, or medical sectors.
  • One (1) or more years of experience with solder processes and resistor (IPC) color codes.
  • Must be able to obtain IPC 620 and J Standard Certifications.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
