Position Summary:

The individual in this role will oversee the front-of-house operations for food and beverage services during group events. This includes supervising staff, ensuring the ambiance of the event space, and adhering to cleaning protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate banquet event orders to ensure adequate staffing levels are met.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to guarantee timely delivery of necessary items for events.
  • Manage daily functions and arrange for linens to maintain a polished appearance in event spaces.
  • Participate in pre- and post-event meetings as required by the event coordination team.
  • Communicate effectively with group services and culinary teams regarding any last-minute changes.
  • Inspect event spaces for cleanliness and proper setup according to event specifications.
  • Document any staff attendance issues and monitor adherence to dress codes.
  • Adjust lighting, temperature, and music to enhance the guest experience.
  • Delegate opening tasks and ensure they are completed satisfactorily.
  • Create seating arrangements and oversee service staff during events.
  • Monitor employee performance to ensure compliance with service standards and provide coaching as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to all operational procedures related to revenue and cost management.

  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the event space by following established cleaning schedules.
  • Adjust staffing based on event requirements.
  • Oversee closing tasks and ensure they are completed properly.
  • Prepare billing and service charge documentation, ensuring accuracy.
  • Review staff schedules to prevent overtime and conflicts.
  • Assist in planning and updating banquet menus.
  • Ensure compliance with hiring guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training preferred.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution; or a combination of education and experience that meets these requirements.

Essential Skills:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Preferred certifications include TAM, Servsafe, and/or TiPS.
  • Basic math and food service knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer service-oriented with a focus on relationship building.
  • Organizational skills and punctuality are essential.

Work Environment:

This role may involve exposure to varying temperatures, including hot and cold environments. Regular use of hands and fingers is required, along with the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
