Key Responsibilities:

Your Role as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor:

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor plays a vital role in the treatment and recovery journey of patients dealing with opioid use disorder. Counselors deliver compassionate care through various methods, including both individual and group therapy sessions.

Primary Duties:
  • Deliver compassionate and effective guidance in individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Plan, oversee, facilitate, and document patient recovery processes.
  • Co-facilitate assigned group or family therapy sessions as necessary.
  • Ensure timely and clear documentation of patient care, treatment, and incidents.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for each assigned patient.
  • Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
  • Assess patient needs and determine if referrals to additional programs or facilities are necessary.
  • Plan aftercare for assigned patients as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention to patients when required.
  • Manage case responsibilities for patients, ensuring tailored quality care.
  • Act as a liaison between referral sources and patients as needed.
Required Qualifications:

Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • A Master's degree in a social or health services field is required, or
  • A Bachelor's Degree with appropriate Licensure/Certification
  • Degree must be from an accredited institution.
  • Prior experience and knowledge in addiction recovery and/or medication-assisted treatment environments are essential.
Licenses/Certifications:
  • If the candidate does not possess a Master's degree, one of the following credentials is required:
    • CAC, CAS, CADAC, CRC, LADC, LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT
