We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Instructional Assistant Bilingual to join our team at West Covina Unified. The successful candidate will provide instructional support to students in a bilingual setting, working closely with teachers and other educational professionals to ensure student success.
Key Responsibilities- Provide instructional support to students in a bilingual setting, working with English Language Learners (ELs) in small groups or one-on-one.
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans, using the student's primary language to support language development and academic achievement.
- Work with teachers to develop and implement strategies to support ELs, including differentiated instruction and language support.
- Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to ensure student success and meet the needs of ELs.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with youth in an organized setting preferred.
- Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in a language other than English required.
- Valid California Driver's License and insurability required for some positions.
The Instructional Assistant Bilingual will work in a fast-paced educational environment, collaborating with teachers and other educational professionals to support student success. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents, and adapt to changing circumstances.
