Job Summary

Shriners Children's is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team in Lexington. As a key member of our pediatric orthopedic care team, you will work closely with our compassionate and respected physicians and staff to provide exceptional care to children with specialized orthopedic needs.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, treat, and educate patients presenting with disabilities, injuries, and diseases affecting the musculoskeletal system under the direction of the supervising physician as delineated by KY state law
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests including x-rays and labs
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
  • Assist care managers in patient triage and management of phone inquiries
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings

Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Nursing or higher required
  • Valid KY APRN license
  • ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA (or equivalent) certification as a PNP or FNP required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in casting and splinting preferred
  • Proficient computer skills with experience in Epic EHR preferred
  • Open to new graduates, but experience in managing pediatric or orthopedic patients in a clinic setting is preferred
  • Teaching and training skills, and demonstrated ability to provide age-appropriate direct patient care is required
