About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping patients overcome speech and language disorders, improving their quality of life and enabling them to communicate effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients to identify speech and language disorders and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Conduct speech therapy sessions to help patients improve their communication skills, including articulation, fluency, and language processing.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including progress notes and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology, participating in ongoing education and professional development.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
  • Current Louisiana Speech Pathologist license or eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity from another state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) within 2 years of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with pediatric and adult populations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Proficiency in Windows-style applications and various software packages specific to the role.
