We are seeking a skilled Housing Program Coordinator to join our team at Madison Approach. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for assisting individuals and families in securing accessible housing.

About the Job

Salary: $25-$28 per hour, depending on degree, experience, and fluency in Spanish (Bilingual Spanish written and verbal).

Bonus Opportunities: Earn up to $2000 in bonuses by passing the HUD Housing Counselor Certification within three months and completing six months of satisfactory employment.

Job Description

As a Housing Program Coordinator, you will work closely with clients, housing providers, and community organizations to identify and secure suitable housing options. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting eligible Housing Subsidy participants through the enrollment process, including filling out housing applications and obtaining necessary support services.
  • Working with applicants' Transition Specialists, Service Coordinators, Nursing Home Discharge Planners, and other stakeholders to ensure a support services plan is in place.
  • Conducting follow-up activities after subsidy initiation, including verifying occupancy and continued eligibility.
  • Identifying and maintaining a list of available housing options in the region, considering factors such as accessibility, location, proximity to services, and rental costs.

You will also be responsible for counseling clients on their financial situations, building relationships with local partners, and tracking activity and reporting data using statewide and agency databases.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree with two years or more of experience in the human services field.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer literacy in basic Microsoft programs, such as Word, Outlook, and Internet search use.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred, with fluency in Spanish a plus.
