About the Role

Covanta is seeking a highly experienced Regional Operations Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and profitable operations of multiple facilities in the region. This role will be responsible for managing the coordination between facilities, commercial teams, and functional support teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safety Leadership: Drive a culture of dedication to process safety, worker safety, and environmental stewardship.
  • Operations Management: Ensure operations are in compliance with all safety, environmental, and health regulations, and corporate initiatives.
  • Financial Management: Deliver P&L targets as defined by budget and growth plans, via detailed plans around waste mix, routing, and execution.
  • Talent Development: Coach and develop operations teams, and identify succession across facilities to ensure bench strength.
  • Change Management: Drive change management for operations initiatives, including adaptation of new tools, processes, and programs.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Ensure accurate and standard reporting using key performance indicators, production, operating statistics, labor costs, and other operating expenses.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in operations management, with at least 5 years' supervisory experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience leading multiple operational sites (O&M) execution, with a track record of safety leadership and P&L management.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field; advanced degree is preferred.
  • Lean Certification is desirable.
