Key Responsibilities:

Safety Leadership:
  • Actively engage in and lead safety initiatives within the organization;
  • Ensure the highest safety standards are integrated into all designs and plans.
Regional Mine Planning:
  • Oversee the creation of regional mine plans, ensuring adherence to Lhoist's standards;
  • Provide training and support to site teams in implementing Lhoist's planning tools and standards.
Site-Specific Mine Planning:
  • Direct the Quarry/Mine Mining Team in developing and executing mine schedules and plans;
  • Update geological and operational models as necessary;
  • Monitor quarry/mine operations for compliance with established plans and document any discrepancies for future revisions.
Technical Design and Analysis:
  • Collect and analyze data from various sources to inform production and performance metrics;
  • Utilize findings to create safe and economically viable design documents and studies.
Project Management:
  • Lead project scope development and preliminary planning, including design documentation and cost modeling;
  • Manage the CAPEX process through technical and financial assessments;
  • Facilitate contractor selection and management;
  • Participate in various project roles as required.
Site Inspections and Audits:
  • Conduct regular technical inspections and audits at various sites;
  • Provide on-site technical support to address issues as they arise.
Additional Duties:
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of progressive technical experience in surface mining;
  • Leadership or supervisory experience is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4-6 years of experience in underground and/or surface mining operations;
  • Bachelor's degree in geology, mining, or a related engineering field.
