Position Summary:
The College of Business and Graduate School of Management at Lewis University is seeking to build a pool of qualified adjunct instructors for graduate-level courses. These educators will be dedicated to fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment across various academic programs, including Business Administration (MBA), Business Analytics (MSBA), Finance (MSF), Project Management (MSPM), and Organizational Leadership (MAOL).
Our adjunct faculty are expected to focus on experiential learning and active student engagement, creating a professional atmosphere that accommodates diverse learning styles.
Reporting to the department chair and/or dean, adjunct faculty members are responsible for fulfilling instructional duties in alignment with the University’s mission, policies, and procedures. The role emphasizes a supportive relationship with students, acting as both an educator and facilitator of learning.

Responsibilities:Adjunct faculty are expected to:
- Teach courses at various campuses, including options for weekday, evening, or online instruction.
- Prepare course materials and maintain updated course content on the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Engage in university and college activities, including training and certification.
- Provide guidance and support to students while collaborating with program faculty to ensure quality and consistency.
To qualify, candidates must possess:
- A doctoral degree in the relevant discipline or subfield.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Completion of the Lewis University Online Teaching Certification Program.
- A flexible approach to class scheduling.
Regular attendance is required, with physical demands including typing, standing, and the ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:Ideal candidates will have:
- A minimum of fifteen years in mid to senior management roles, demonstrating mastery of the subject matter.
- Evidence of prior teaching or training experience.
- Familiarity with Blackboard and hybrid teaching methods is desirable but not mandatory.
This is a part-time position, with adjunct faculty typically teaching one or two courses each semester based on need. This posting is for potential future openings.
