Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sales Account Representative to join our team at Interstate Batteries. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding our product base with newly acquired and existing accounts, as well as increasing per-transaction sales with high profit margins. You will serve as the primary contact for your assigned book of business within designated markets and provide consistent support and account management to store owners, managers, distributors, and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Increase sales by expanding existing accounts through organic and new revenue leveraging Interstate Advantage and new product offerings.
  • Create predictable, profitable, and sustainable growth, with 80% generated from the assigned book of business and 20% sourced from new customers.
  • Built and maintain positive, profitable relationships with store owners, managers, distributors, and customers while resolving issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Engage customers through outbound call activities and meet all call metrics components.
  • Identify prospective customers through lead generation activities and maintain a 10% conversion rate.
  • Serve as the primary contact to strategic business partners to improve, maintain, and share business plans and action plans to manage and improve sales growth within the assigned book of business.
  • Prepare and coordinate team huddles with strategic partners.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers by continually providing excellent service, pricing, and product support.
  • Develop marketing campaigns in partnership with the marketing team and business partners.
Requirements:
  • A proven track record in a team-based sales organization (1-2 years preferred).
  • A four-year degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Ability to focus in a contact center environment with multiple distractions.
  • Competitive drive to succeed within a team structure.
  • Self-motivation and high organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to work with various personality types.
  • Superb telephone etiquette and basic math skills.
  • Ability to adapt and change with the growing business needs.
  • Decision-making skills based on thorough research and ethical judgment.
  • Basic understanding of budgets, revenue reporting, and other financial aspects of the business.
  • Proficiency with general office machines and Microsoft Office components.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing work environment.
Work Environment:
  • Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods.
  • Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Prolonged use of personal computer & telephone with headset.
  • Open work environment with multiple distractions.
  • Ability to work remotely as business needs require.
  • Available for work during full business hours of 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Salary Information:

The estimated salary for this role is $60,000-$70,000 per annum, depending on experience and performance.
