Job Title: Principal Counsel, Games

Netflix is a global leader in entertainment, with a presence in over 190 countries and a diverse range of content offerings. Our Games team is a key part of this effort, and we're seeking a talented and experienced lawyer to join our team as Principal Counsel, Games.

About the Role

We're looking for a seasoned lawyer with a strong background in entertainment law, particularly in the areas of content creation, game development, and distribution. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the entertainment industry and be able to navigate complex legal issues with ease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and negotiate agreements related to content and game development and distribution, including license agreements, talent agreements, and production services.
  • Review a high volume of content-related agreements to ascertain rights and perform subsequent rights analysis.
  • Support our Internal Games team and External Games team across all transmedia efforts.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across all key stakeholders.
  • Design, update, and implement transmedia-focused processes related to tracking project matters.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of relevant experience as a lawyer, including in the entertainment space.
  • Prior in-house experience at a major entertainment studio and within a Games legal team is strongly preferred.
  • Highly adept at commercial contracting and negotiating.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and judgment.
  • Prior experience analyzing content-related rights issues is strongly preferred.
What We Offer

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary, with a range of $180,000 - $690,000. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options.
