Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the agency in expanding the Personal Lines portfolio by optimizing the Southwest Platform processes and leveraging your expertise daily. The focus will be on delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining a sales-oriented mindset, identifying opportunities within the existing client base to enhance accounts and develop new business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Document every service interaction through computer systems.
  • Organize and process incoming mail daily.
  • Identify reasons for policy cancellations and take action to retain accounts.
  • Stay informed about company underwriting guidelines and carrier rules.
  • Assist in generating new business quotes during sales calls.
  • Provide weekly reports on new business production.
  • Prepare insurance summaries, schedules, and proposals for account evaluations.
  • Conduct renewal activities as required.
  • Verify policy and policy change details.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to increase coverage or enhance accounts during service interactions.
  • Assist walk-in clients with personal insurance needs appropriately.
  • Facilitate communication regarding insurance claims between clients and carriers.
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively reach out to renew and upgrade accounts.
  • Build long-term relationships with clients and underwriters.
  • Review new business applications from agents and provide necessary approvals.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Department to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Maintain a positive work environment to enhance productivity.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
  • Proficient in writing basic correspondence.
  • Capable of presenting information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Familiarity with Applied EPIC (Agency Management System), Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to utilize and comprehend FSC rater.
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Possession of a valid Fire and Casualty license or Personal Lines Broker/Agent license issued by the state of California, Department of Insurance, with assistance from MIS.
