Job Summary

This role is responsible for assisting the agency in growing the Personal Lines book of business by maximizing the use of our proprietary platform and applying knowledge on a daily basis. The successful candidate will provide world-class customer service while being sales-minded and identifying opportunities to round out accounts and create new business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Document all service interactions with clients in a timely and accurate manner
  • Process incoming mail and file designated documents daily
  • Analyze reasons for cancellations and take proactive steps to retain accounts
  • Stay up-to-date on company underwriting guidelines and rules for all carriers
  • Participate in providing new business quotations to sales calls
  • Prepare weekly new business production reports
  • Develop summaries of insurance policies, schedules, and proposals as needed for account review
  • Perform renewal activities as necessary
  • Verify policy and policy change information
  • Identify opportunities to increase coverage or round out accounts through sales to clients at every service contact
  • Assist walk-in clients in a professional and courteous manner
  • Provide support on insurance claims where there are communication issues or misunderstandings between the carrier/adjuster and policyholder
  • Anticipate future needs and proactively contact established clients to renew and upgrade accounts
  • Develop long-term business relationships with clients and underwriters
  • Review and approve new business applications from agents
  • Collaborate with the Sales Department to support revenue generation
  • Maintain a positive attitude and provide a pleasant work environment
Requirements
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Applied EPIC (Agency Management System), Microsoft Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to use and understand FSC rater
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Maintain a valid Fire and Casualty license or Personal Lines Broker/Agent license issued by the state of California, Department of Insurance

Work Environment

This role is based in a temperature-controlled, non-smoking office environment with moderately high cubicle walls. The noise level is usually moderate.
