About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Memorial Hermann Medical Group. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing echocardiogram tests on patients, ensuring technical quality of images, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for echocardiogram tests, explain the procedure, and position them for optimal imaging.
  • Select appropriate imaging techniques and ensure technical quality of images.
  • Enter and monitor patient data, demonstrating attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient concerns and escalating issues as needed.
  • Perform quality assurance on equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
  • Identify and report any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor/manager.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities, contributing to the success of the department.
  • Take emergency calls within the department, demonstrating a commitment to patient care.
  • Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to Memorial Hermann policies and procedures.
  • Promote individual professional growth and development, meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency.

Requirements

  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others to perform job functions.
