Job Summary

SSM Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer PRN to join our team at the Healthplex South Ultrasound department. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer PRN, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and adjust all equipment and manually maneuver transducers to perform exams.
  • Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures.
  • Perform routine and complex studies and assist in a variety of imaging procedures.
  • Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations.
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning and report potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Submit all high-quality images and documents to PACS (image quality, images labeled correctly, and patient data/history).
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and other areas.
  • Comply with regulatory agencies and work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or completion of a sonography certification program.
  • No experience required.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) Specialty, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Specialty, Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS), or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification.
