Our Data & Rep Technology (DaRT) division is responsible for the strategy, execution, delivery, and support of our enterprise data warehouse and innovative data platforms.


Your Role:

We are seeking an individual with a strong enthusiasm for data and a solid background in data engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and implementing both batch and real-time ETL (and ELT) processes, contributing to our Dev Engineering team that is focused on creating and executing enterprise data solution frameworks.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on daily challenges and is eager to stay updated on the latest technologies in the Data Engineering field, setting new benchmarks for our extensive team of ETL developers while collaborating effectively with colleagues.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a Senior Data Engineer within a collaborative Dev Engineering team, comprising both onshore and offshore developers, utilizing advanced technologies such as Google Cloud, Big Data, and relational data warehouse systems, including Informatica, Big Query, IICS, Talend, Teradata, and Python.
  • Prototype data solutions to facilitate quicker access to data for analytics developers.
  • Develop reusable data solution patterns to accelerate the delivery of data assets.
  • Analyze and profile business data across relational and Big Data environments.
  • Enhance your skills and responsibilities by engaging in exciting projects, training on emerging technologies, and shaping the future of our Data Solutions Delivery teams.
  • Oversee daily activities related to the development of reusable frameworks for new data solutions and troubleshoot existing systems.
  • Collaborate with product owners and directors to lead technical discussions and resolve any technical challenges.
  • Implement best practices for data integration, ensuring data quality and automation.
  • Work with product vendors to identify and manage outstanding product issues.
  • Tackle complex data integration challenges.
  • Collaborate with project development teams and technology partners to create high-level designs and estimate costs and efforts for new framework development initiatives.
  • Architect, design, and develop solutions while providing comprehensive documentation.
  • Maintain and develop code for data ingestion and curation using tools such as Informatica IICS, Talend, Spark, and Kafka.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A minimum of 10 years of hands-on development experience with parallel processing databases, particularly Teradata.
  • At least 3 years of experience with cloud technologies, preferably Google Cloud Platform, including Big Query and Data Proc.
  • Expertise in using GCP native ETL solutions or building custom ETL/ELT solutions with Python.
  • Proficiency in data streaming technologies like Kafka.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data systems, including database design, ETL processes, aggregation strategies, and performance optimization.
  • Experience in establishing best practices for ETL code development, along with strong SQL skills for developing, tuning, and debugging complex SQL applications.
  • Expertise in schema design and data modeling, with a proven ability to work with intricate data structures.
  • Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, and Spark.
  • Familiarity with Linux and shell scripting.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Bamboo, Jenkins, and Bitbucket.
