About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Development Engineer to join our team at Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC. As a key member of our Kuiper Network Processor Platform Team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and testing the communication systems payload software for our Low Earth Orbit satellites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and test unique embedded software functions in C, C++, RUST, or other languages.
  • Write software to control silicon devices using proprietary and standard communication buses.
  • Work closely with hardware teams to support board design, bring-up, and verification.
  • Follow best practices in high reliability embedded software development to ensure system reliability and availability.
  • Debug low-level issues at the intersection of hardware/FPGA/firmware/software on multicore SOCs.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

Our team tackles critical satellite payload functions, including payload power management, hardware interfaces, command & telemetry, operational state management, thermal management, resiliency and redundancy, hardware and software integration. We are looking for an outstanding software engineer to participate in all phases of software development from requirements through implementation and test to operations.
