Job Description

Cafu is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Corporate Lawyer to join its dynamic Legal team. As a key member of the team, you will provide counsel and support to the General Counsel on a broad range of Cafu's day-to-day legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert legal advice to business teams on transactional corporate, commercial, or regulatory matters.
  • Assist the General Counsel in preparing, reviewing, and negotiating agreements, including services/consultancy agreements, MOUs, partnership agreements, and supply/distribution agreements.
  • Manage the group's employee share incentive plan and its administration.
  • Liaise with relevant departments and stakeholders to resolve legal queries within deadlines.
  • Develop and update template agreements, policies, and legal procedures.
  • Prepare memos and notes with reliable and commercially focused legal advice on technology, energy, and ESG projects.
  • Manage the external counsel roster and oversee work performed by such counsels.
  • Provide general legal advice and support, including research, legislative updates, and assistance with compliance matters.
  • Manage the IP portfolio of the group (Trademarks, Patents, etc.).
  • Prepare training for business teams on legal regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Manage trade licenses renewals and coordinate with external counsels and public authorities.
  • Draft notices of defaults and liaise with law firms for civil cases.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in a corporate/commercial environment.
  • Qualification from a common law jurisdiction (UK, Australia, or US) or a civil law jurisdiction.
  • Previous in-house legal experience in a regional or multinational company.
  • Business acumen with the ability to provide sound risk and legal analysis.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive with a willingness to take initiative and responsibilities.
  • Hands-on project management and exceptional organization skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships across relevant stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English is essential; Arabic and French are highly desirable.
