The Opportunity

Mass General Brigham is looking for full-time Scheduling Specialists to assist with Neurology, Orthopedics, and Cardiovascular patient appointments.

This role involves managing inbound and outbound calls to schedule or reschedule specialty appointments across various entities. The position is primarily phone-based, with 90% of the time dedicated to call handling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle a high volume of phone calls daily.
  • Address online appointment requests.
  • Complete patient registration for scheduling purposes.

Qualifications

Education and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Proficient with technology and capable of managing high-volume workloads.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Able to follow standard operating procedures.
  • Strong multitasking abilities across various programs.
  • Exceptional customer service skills are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Experience:

  • Relevant experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is required.
  • Previous customer service experience, particularly in a contact center environment, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and general data entry skills.
  • Experience with Epic or other cloud-based electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
Working Conditions and Required Shifts

This position operates Monday through Friday for 40 hours per week. Training is mandatory for the initial weeks.

Shifts will be assigned based on business needs, with various time slots available. A stable, secure, and HIPAA-compliant workstation with an ethernet connection is required for remote work.

Remote Policy: Employees must connect via an ethernet cable to their home router/modem to access secure web-based programs. A dedicated, private workspace that is free from distractions and compliant with HIPAA regulations is necessary.
