About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Recovery Coach to join our team at Alleghany Highlands Community Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in their journey towards recovery and wellness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a supportive and non-judgmental atmosphere for individuals receiving services
  • Offer supportive-level counseling throughout the Emergency Custody Order (ECO) process and refer problems to appropriate staff members as required
  • Record individual served progress and communicate with the treatment team regarding progress and concerns
  • Provide follow-up outreach to individuals served in the form of face-to-face and/or phone contact
Requirements
  • High School graduate or GED required
  • Minimum one (1) year recovery time, having experienced a mental health disorder or mental illness with good self-knowledge to manage the disorder
  • Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (required but can be obtained upon hire and must be obtained within one year of employment)
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience facilitating recovery support groups and/or WRAP groups for an individual with mental illness
  • Some college
  • Certified WRAP Facilitator
