Job Title: Histotechnician or Histotechnologist

At K.A. Recruiting, we are seeking a highly skilled Histotechnician or Histotechnologist to join our team at a top suburban Chicago clinical laboratory.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to assist in the preparation of gross specimens, embedding tissues, processing tissue specimens, cutting tissues, and performing various stains to provide valuable data in the functioning of tissue and organs, causes and/or progress of disease.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Pathologist with grossing of specimens and preparation of microscopic slides
  • Develop and implement new techniques and procedures
  • Teach and train colleagues on new methods and protocols
  • Perform various stains, including immunoperoxidase, to provide data on tissue and organ function
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate degree in a lab science and graduation from an accredited Histology Technician program
  • Meet the alternative education and experience guidelines set forth by the ASCP to become registry eligible for the HT category
