Position Overview:
The Sales and Service Representative will serve as a key member of our retail team, engaging with clients to provide essential products and services. This role involves not only sales but also supporting our logistics and customer service efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Sales and Service Representative, your duties will include:
- Promoting and selling a variety of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, along with welding supplies and related equipment.
- Maintaining inventory levels and ensuring shelves are stocked appropriately.
- Providing assistance to customers via various communication channels, including in-person, phone, and email.
- Generating sales from both new and existing clientele while managing necessary documentation for future reference.
- Coordinating deliveries of cylinders and hard goods, while also maintaining attractive showroom displays.
- Assisting customers with the loading and unloading of products, offering guidance on equipment usage and necessary materials.
- Building and nurturing strong customer relationships by addressing inquiries and providing information on costs, orders, and delivery schedules.
- Monitoring inventory levels to prevent shortages and ensure timely replenishment.
- Managing accounts receivable, including discussions on overdue accounts and collection of payments.
- Ensuring accurate completion of all necessary paperwork, including coding, costing, and pricing.
- Upholding a professional appearance and adhering to safety and administrative protocols.
- Occasionally delivering products to various clients in the industrial and medical sectors.
- Acting as a backup driver when required.
- Operating equipment such as forklifts as necessary.
- Supporting inventory management, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with product demonstrations.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in customer service or sales.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Preferred knowledge of welding processes and equipment.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- A valid Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT endorsement, or the ability to obtain the necessary license and endorsements within a specified timeframe.
- Experience in the industry or familiarity with compressed gases is advantageous.
- Basic computer skills, particularly in order entry systems.
- Physical capability to lift weights ranging from 25 to 75 lbs regularly, and occasionally over 100 lbs, as well as maneuvering heavy liquid containers.
- Ability to perform various physical tasks, including standing, walking, and using hands for deliveries.
- Strong visual capabilities, including close and distance vision, color perception, and depth perception.
Work Environment:
This position may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
