Healthcare Support Specialist Job Description

The Healthcare Support Specialist operates under the supervision of registered nursing staff to deliver both direct and indirect patient care. This role is essential in assisting with a variety of patient care responsibilities while ensuring a secure environment within the healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient care in accordance with established guidelines and standards
  • Assist patients with their daily living activities
  • Respond promptly to patient requests and needs
  • Accurately collect and report patient information
  • Perform specialized patient care tasks as necessary
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort at all times
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a Nurse Aide program or relevant experience in the field
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Nurse Aide certification
  • Previous experience in patient care
  • Basic proficiency in computer usage

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Current BLS certification is mandatory
  • Refresher training for Technical Partner may be required if there has been a gap in working within a healthcare environment
  • Compliance with regulatory clearance requirements

Work Environment:

  • Shifts may vary based on operational needs
  • Possible local travel between healthcare facilities
