Job Summary

BJC Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist II to join our Laboratory Core Flow Cytometry team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care by performing specimen processing and routine/complex testing on blood and other specimens.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain Laboratory Equipment: Ensure the smooth operation of all instrumentation in assigned areas, delivering precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results.
  • Train and Develop Team Members: Train new laboratory personnel in methods, procedures, and use of equipment and instruments specific to the assigned area.
  • Quality Control and Troubleshooting: Perform quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoot malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary.
  • Report and Maintain Patient Test Results: Accurately report and maintain patient test results through the laboratory computer system, meeting published turn-around times for routine testing and statistics.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement Activities: Proactively diagnose and resolve problems, handling specific quality functions in an organized and timely fashion.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Physical/Life Science or related field.
  • Experience: Less than 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Licenses and Certifications: ASCP, AMT, AAB, or equivalent or eligible.
