About the Role:

The State Authorization Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring timely authorizations and approvals from payer funding sources. This position works closely with local clinical and business office staff, as well as corporate Finance, to monitor utilization and ensure accurate entry of payers and authorizations in the Revenue Cycle system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Clinical teams to request authorizations from payer funding sources in a timely manner.
  • Monitor payer web portals for authorization approvals and ensure thorough and accurate entry of payers and authorizations.
  • Audit and report utilization and expirations that impact billing processes.
  • Participate in meetings as required and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and stay on task.
  • Organized, accurate, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to manage time, make decisions, and solve problems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook/Teams and other computer-related skills.
  • Ability to learn various software applications.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.

Pre-employment Screening:

  • Name checked in the registries (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities).
  • Drug testing.
  • Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
  • Proof of employment history or references (if required).
  • Positions that require driving: Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle (if required for providing transportation for individuals).
