Surgical Technician

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team in the Labor and Delivery department at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order and properly sterilized.
- Participate in pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care, providing support to patients and families as needed.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient turnover of operating rooms, maintaining a high level of productivity and quality.
- Develop and maintain expertise in various surgical specialties, including labor and delivery, and contribute to the development of educational programs for staff.
- Graduate of an approved surgical technician program or equivalent.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a labor and delivery hospital setting, preferably as a Surgical Technician.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
- Certification as a Surgical Technician (NBSTSA) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
