Job SummaryThe Surgical Technician is a vital member of the perioperative team, responsible for providing technical support during surgical procedures. This role requires a high level of skill, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation and maintenance of the surgical environment, including setup and breakdown of equipment and supplies
- Assistance with patient positioning, draping, and preparation for surgery
- Passing of instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures
- Monitoring of patient vital signs and reporting any changes to the surgical team
- Participation in post-operative care and recovery of patients
- Graduation from an approved surgical technician program or equivalent experience
- Current certification as a Surgical Technician (NBSTSA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a sterile environment
