About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Specialist to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing advanced breast imaging procedures and leading departmental programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Operate radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Lead departmental programs, protocol development, and quality/efficiency initiatives
  • Assist in the orientation and training of junior staff
Requirements
  • Completion of a radiologic technology program in an AMA-approved school
  • 2 years of experience in breast imaging
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Current license in the state of practice
  • Advanced certification in Mammography
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
