Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care
    • Greets patients by confirming patient identification and reviewing imaging requests.
    • Reduces patient anxieties by providing explanations of imaging procedures and equipment.
    • Conducts mammography studies by positioning breasts, adjusting compression mechanisms, and instructing patients to hold their breath.
  • Equipment Maintenance
    • Ensures operation of mammography equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
    • Maintains equipment inventories and keeps mammography supplies and patient drapes ready.
  • Quality and Safety
    • Maintains production and quality of mammograms by following established standards and procedures.
    • Minimizes radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques.
    • Ensures a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures.
  • Documentation
    • Documents patient mammogram services by completing patient record charting.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
    • Registered Technologist (RT) certification in Mammography.
  • Skills and Experience
    • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
