Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at LewisGale Hospital Alleghany. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Administer therapy modalities as ordered by physicians, including mechanical ventilation and arterial puncture and blood gas analysis.
- Respond to code blue situations for assigned areas and assist in the transport of ventilator and critically ill patients.
- Verify physician orders prior to therapy treatment and provide accurate reports to oncoming staff at shift end.
- Enter all patient contacts into appropriate systems and perform equipment rounds.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board Respiratory Care (NBRC) and licensure by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Respiratory Therapy degree (AAS or BS) and one year of critical care experience.
- Previous experience with mechanical ventilation, blood gas analysis, and oximetry, as well as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
