Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at LewisGale Hospital Alleghany. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Administer therapy modalities as ordered by physician, performing all aspects of mechanical ventilators (initiation, operation, monitoring, etc) and arterial puncture and blood gas analysis.
  • Respond to code blue situations for assigned areas.
  • Assist in transport of ventilator and critically ill patients.
  • Verify physician orders prior to therapy treatment.
  • Give thorough, accurate report to oncoming staff at shift end.
  • Enter all patient contacts into appropriate system.
  • Perform equipment rounds.
Requirements
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT from National Board Respiratory Care (NBRC), licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Respiratory Therapy Degree – AAS or BS.
  • One-year critical care experience.
  • Previous experience with mechanical ventilation, blood gas analysis and oximetry.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
