Overview
LewisGale Hospital Alleghany is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a critical care specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission to deliver exceptional healthcare services.
Responsibilities
- Administer therapy modalities as ordered by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of care.
- Operate and monitor mechanical ventilators, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
- Conduct arterial puncture and blood gas analysis, providing critical information for patient care decisions.
- Respond to code blue situations, utilizing advanced life support skills to ensure patient safety.
- Assist in transporting critically ill patients, prioritizing their needs and ensuring a smooth transition of care.
Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board Respiratory Care (NBRC), licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Respiratory Therapy degree - AAS or BS.
- One year of critical care experience, with a focus on mechanical ventilation, blood gas analysis, and oximetry.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
