Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Finance to join our team at Sage Hospitality. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of our hotel, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing support to the Director of Finance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Accounting Operations: Oversee the daily accounting activities, including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, income journal, general cashiering, taxes, and internal controls.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements to ensure accurate financial information. Prepare financial statements and reports to provide timely and accurate information to management.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the compilation and preparation of the annual budget, forecasts, taxes, and other financial reports to support management decision-making.
  • Financial Controls and Compliance: Implement and maintain financial and cash controls, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and train accounting staff, including interviewing, recommending hiring, developing, empowering, scheduling, coaching, and counseling employees.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A four-year college degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent education/experience. One to two years of experience in hospitality management or accounting.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Advanced knowledge of accounting, finance, and hospitality professions. Experiential knowledge for management of people and complex problems. Ability to analyze activities or information involving some original data manipulation or interpretation to arrive at logical conclusions.
  • Physical Demands: Limited lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 15-20 lbs. Limited bending/kneeling required when arranging supplies or equipment. Infrequent continuous standing, climbing, or driving required.
