Job Summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a part-time Child Development Specialist. This role will provide care and education for children at our College for Officer Training in Chicago.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement daily curricula that promote learning and development in a fun and engaging manner.
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment that fosters positive relationships between children, staff, and parents.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and staff to ensure consistency in care and education.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's activities, progress, and any incidents that may occur.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in child development and education.
  • Collaborate with the Family Care Center Director to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience working with children in a childcare or education setting.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication.
  • Valid State of Illinois driver's license.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, 25 hours per week, with occasional local travel and occasional overtime as needed.
