Laboratory Technician and Phlebotomy Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY: The role encompasses a range of responsibilities within the laboratory environment, including but not limited to blood collection, managing incoming calls, scheduling patient appointments, and performing data entry and record maintenance. The individual will prepare specimens and requisitions for laboratory tests, report results, oversee inventory management, restock supplies, maintain laboratory equipment, and ensure cleanliness of the workspace. This position involves routine technical tasks under the supervision of a clinical laboratory technologist. Responsibilities may also include providing phlebotomy services, which involve collecting blood samples from patients through various methods as directed by a physician. The technician will ensure proper patient identification and accurate labeling of specimens.
Travel Requirements: The role may require traveling to various locations for phlebotomy services, including nursing facilities and community health events.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Previous experience in an office setting and phlebotomy is preferred.
- Proficiency in drawing blood from patients of all ages is expected within the first 60 days of employment.
- BLS (CPR) certification is required or must be obtained within three months of starting the position.
