Overview:
This role is integral to our operations at the Division of Family Resources (DFR).


We are seeking a dedicated individual with a strong emphasis on customer service who is eager to contribute positively to the community through their work as an Eligibility Support Specialist.

This position entails providing essential administrative support and assistance to case workers and clients seeking public assistance.

The Eligibility Support Specialist will engage directly with clients, office personnel, and other state representatives, ensuring a smooth process for those applying for various assistance programs.

The DFR is tasked with assessing eligibility for individuals seeking or currently receiving public assistance, including programs such as TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), and Medicaid.

As front desk personnel, the Eligibility Support Specialist will be responsible for collecting necessary documentation, processing applications, and aiding clients throughout their journey in accessing public assistance, along with other administrative duties.

Responsibilities:
- Greet all visitors and ascertain the purpose of their visit
- Verify client information for accuracy
- Assist with various computer applications
- Schedule appointments for clients
- Digitally archive documents into client case files
- Maintain the functionality of fax machines and copiers
- Answer and route incoming calls
- Keep daily activity logs
- Provide exceptional customer service to all clients

Qualifications:
- A genuine desire to assist others
- Strong background in customer service
- Ability to uphold confidentiality
- Capable of managing conflict calmly
- Dependable and reliable in the workplace
- Proficient in multitasking
- Demonstrated job stability
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Clean criminal background
- Previous experience in roles such as Customer Service Representative, Cashier, Clerk, Administrative Assistant, Receptionist, or Front Office is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Job responsibilities frequently involve sitting and handling objects with hands.

Occasional requirements include standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting items up to 25 pounds.

Vision Requirements:
Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
