Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team at Teton Petroleum Transport (TPT). As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for providing daily preventative and corrective maintenance on our fleet of trucks and trailers. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, including brakes, axles, electrical, air systems, and suspension.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform PM inspections and make necessary repairs on trucks and trailers.
  • Keep all assigned vehicle maintenance files current, including DOT compliance-related documentation.
  • Perform or coordinate emergency maintenance and breakdown repairs on fleet vehicles.
  • Repair work on brakes, axle, electrical, air system, suspension, and tank trailer safety systems.
  • Perform routine brake inspections/adjustments on commercial vehicles following federal DOT requirements.
  • Create work orders on repairs and services, providing legible and accurate information.
  • Coordinate with location supervisor and review pre-trip truck inspections to prioritize work accordingly.
  • Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose defects.
  • Adhere to all applicable safety policies, procedures, and standards.
Requirements
  • One or more years of tanker mechanic experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot trailer ABS using Wabco software.
  • Ability to repair overfill protection systems.
  • Possess a valid Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
  • Acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to perform suspension, brake repairs, wheel seals, electrical lighting installation and repairs, reconditioning valves, pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, and methods necessary to complete tasks.
