Richland Library is looking for a dedicated Supervisor of Children's Services and Customer Engagement to join our team at the Main location.
Key Responsibilities:- Team Leadership: Assist the department manager in training and overseeing staff and volunteers, including delegating daily tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring effective communication of essential updates.
- Customer Interaction: Engage directly with patrons to help them locate, check out, and renew library materials, as well as assist with basic inquiries both in-person and over the phone.
- Technology Assistance: Support customers in utilizing library technology, including PAC terminals and copiers, while addressing reference and technology-related questions.
- Policy Interpretation: Clarify library policies and procedures to customers and staff, ensuring compliance and directing complex inquiries to professional staff when necessary.
- Operational Oversight: Monitor automated systems and equipment, escalate issues as needed, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of library technologies.
- Program Development: Plan and conduct engaging programs and training sessions for diverse audiences, including story times and technology workshops.
- Facility Management: Support the library's operational needs, including supply management, cash handling, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve customer concerns effectively, enforcing library conduct guidelines.
- Data Management: Compile and analyze data for reporting and trend analysis.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and report hazards as per established guidelines.
- Professional Development: Participate in staff meetings and stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
- Customer Service Excellence: Uphold Richland Library's commitment to outstanding service, ensuring that each patron's needs are met with care and attention.
High School diploma or GED required, with a minimum of four years of relevant experience, including leadership capabilities.
